Intuitive Reading, Eight of Pentacles

Description: A craftsman, artisan, or perhaps laborer sits on a wooden bench, crafting an eighth pentacle. Six pentacles are lined, end-to-end, on a wooden wall. There is a space between the first and second pentacle (toward the bottom of the stack) where, presumably, the pentacle he is crafting will be mounted. A seventh pentacle lays on the ground slightly under and behind him. Perhaps he has set it aside for repairs or to improve. Perhaps he is saving it for another occasion. It is obviously intentionally displaced.

Intuitive Reading: This card feels practical. An individual applying their talent, or perhaps sharpening their skill through practice, in a way that improves their external world. Perhaps it is putting into action the work that will improve themselves or their relationships--they are making the effort to be a better person. Maybe the individual is working towards a goal. Here, they are not rushing in haphazardly. Instead, they take appropriate steps to seize their prize.

This card seems to say, "Do the work the right way to achieve mastery or a goal." Struggling with self-image? Do the work to accept yourself as you are or do the work to improve areas you want improved. Sitting still or rushing in are not going to work here. It takes effort, practice, and action.

Was the Intuitive Reading Aligned with the Traditional

According to the Tarot Guidebook, Based on the tarot interpretations of Arthur Edward WaiteModified, expanded, and edited by Phillip Young, PhD:

Meaning: "Use your skill and experience to improve your financial status and improve your security."

Symbolism: "An artisan perfects his craft making new pentacles of the finest design."

Reflection

Young's interpretation, which is based on Arthur Edward Waite's interpretation, is practical. Do the work, use your talents and skills "to improve your financial status and improve your security." It is straight and to the point. I feel satisfied with my intuitive read.

Am I missing anything? Is there a better way to read the card? What are your thoughts?
